Day One

I've finally done it. After noting that even Alan Pergament has a blog, how can I be far behind?
I am astonished at the practiced incompetence of leaders who cannot produce a balanced budget on time, who refer to 4% spending increases as "cuts," who have no conception of the idea that if you choke the golden goose repeatedly, you cannot expect the golden eggs to keep dropping into your laps.

This state needs a constitutional convention in the worst way. It is chronically dysfunctional and corrupt.

The people of New York State need to re-claim the power that is theirs. The current bi-cameral legislature is a slave to special interests and somehow unaware of the long-term damage it is causing.

The next Governor needs to call upon the Legislature to authorize a constitutional convention to start over and re-build Albany into a seat of power that meets the needs of its people in a realistic way.
